Each of them can be used with a basic and advanced filter. 

Let’s take the advanced People filter as an example. The filter can help you find specific people on LinkedIn based on what they put on their profiles. Here are some of the most used filters you can use to make your search more specific:

  • Connections: You can filter people by your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd-degree connections on LinkedIn.
  • Connections of: You can search for the connections of other people in your network.

According to Dina, this LinkedIn strategy got around 100,000 followers across two personal accounts.

What you are aiming for in this case doesn’t necessarily have to be 100,000 followers. In this phase, you are building an audience base that is actually interested in the topics you are sharing. So the number of followers can be significantly under 100,000 but they will still be qualified leads.

And now that you have your audience set, you are ready for the product development part. This is an important part in which you need to make sure that you are sharing top-quality content. 

In terms of LinkedIn posting, top quality means:

  • It talks about the relevant problems of your audience
  • It educates them on the solutions
  • It shows results

One of the best ways to establish yourself or your organization as a thought leader is to share fresh ideas and engaging points of view. These are ideas that help your followers to be more efficient, maximize their results, and ultimately, solve their problems. 

Of course, at some point, you will want to sell, but you need to build trust first. At the same time, you will attract more followers who are interested in the topics you are talking about so when you get to the point when you are ready to sell, your base will be bigger and ready to buy.

Because it happened and we have undeniable evidence of our work. People listen then. And if we can make it actionable and relatable, we will break through.

You might have heard this question a few times before, besides “What’s the best LinkedIn strategy to make money fast?” The truth is, gone are the days when there was one universal best time to post on social media. Thanks to the LinkedIn feed algorithm, you can now learn what is the best time to post for your organization. 

In other words, what works for one organization doesn’t necessarily need to work for another, even if they are in the same timezone or industry. For some, posting on Wednesdays early in the morning can work like a charm, while others will attract more people who are most active on Sunday evenings.

This is where LinkedIn Analytics comes in handy. 

Here’s how to find the best time to post using LinkedIn analytics:

  1. Try out different posting times (and write them down because LinkedIn doesn’t show the published time for each post). 
  2. Check the Content section of your Company page (or Impressions if you are using your personal page analytics).
  3. Find the best-performing posts with the highest engagement rates.
  4. Find the posting times of these posts.
  5. Post at least once a week.

In case there is a trend you can see among these posts, you can identify the best posting times for your LinkedIn posts. If not, you need to experiment a bit more with a few different posting times. 

How to engage with other people’s posts on LinkedIn

You probably already know that it is important to engage with other people’s content on LinkedIn besides just posting your own. 

But did you know that there is a simple way to create a custom favorite feed for all the people you want to comment on? And it is quite simple too:

  1. After hitting “Enter” in the Search bar, you need to click on Posts.
  2. Go to All Filters
  3. Choose Past 24 hours
  4. Now go to From member section to type in people you wish to follow
  5. Click on Show results
  6. To save the list, click on favorites in Chrome and save your list in bookmarks

And voila! Now you can see the custom feed with all the people you want to engage with on regular basis on LinkedIn. 

5. LinkedIn ads best practices

Let me first say this… I’m no expert in LinkedIn ads. But I’m following a few people like Justin Rowe who are experts in this domain and are really crushing it.

So in this section, I will try to outline some of the best LinkedIn Ads tactics I’ve seen other people execute so far.

The number one rule is that there is one metric you need to understand fully and that is: Lifetime value or LTV. As you already know, there is a cost of acquisition for each client you get in business. In a nutshell, you need the client’s LTV to be bigger than their cost of acquisition to make a profit.

The issue is that it’s not easy to track LTV. And while it’s tricky to remain profitable, you basically need to:

  1. Regain what you spent
  2. Accumulate profit over time
  3. Ensure the ROI of obtaining a client is positive

But as Justin once said, if the expense to acquire is less than the expense to sustain, profitability is achievable.

This brings us to tracking.

Sometimes, LinkedIn conversion tracking might not work well because you might not be tracking people far down the funnel. 

To fix this and make sure you are not missing any marks when it comes to tracking your ads on LinkedIn, you need to track:

  1. Form submissions 
  2. The number of booked calls
  3. The number of purchases

Here’s a simple solution I’ve seen to make tracking easy. Create thank-you page(s) for different traffic. You’ll be able to track separate actions that land someone on a specific URL. If you have multiple channels, duplicate the thank-you page, change the slug a bit, and send traffic there.

As far as the ads and creatives go, you have standard options as any other ad platform: posts, images, videos, lead gen forms, etc.
